Agronomy
The agronomy (from Greek agronomos) east all the sciences, natural, economic and social, and technology to which it is used in practice and understanding of agriculture. The veterinary sciences are sometimes excluded from this definition.

Agriculture and agronomy
The terms of agriculture and agronomy are often used interchangeably, even though they're two different concepts.
Broadly speaking, agronomy is the science aimed at understanding the mechanisms involved in agriculture and improve them. This explains why we talk sometimes agricultural sciences. Agriculture in turn is the practice of agricultural activity. Ideally agriculture thrives reflections agronomic. In its narrow sense, agronomy embraces knowledge of agricultural techniques in interaction with the environment (planting date, value of rotations, choice of seeds, calculating the mineralization of organic matter, husbandry techniques ...). In a broader sense, agronomy also includes knowledge of the socio-economic organization of agriculture (corporate form, financing, operation of markets, family structures).

Agronomy: a local science [change]
Agriculture is an enhancement of a given territory with its own characteristics, agronomy replace generic knowledge in a local context. It is indeed to understand an environment to maximize agricultural. In its section on the proper agricultural practices, agronomy is closely related to soil science insofar as it is closely linked to soils and climates, which are never the same from one region to another. That is why France, for example, some specialties are in Tropical Agriculture, whose specifics are not comparable to the agriculture of the metropolis. We often talk of terroir, which must be treated differently from each other.

The agricultural engineers: apply engineering and technology to agricultural production and processing, and management of natural resources. The first curriculum in Agricultural Engineering was established at the University of Iowa by JB Davidson in 1905. The American Society of Agricultural Engineers, now known as the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, was founded in 1907.
Agricultural engineers design agricultural machinery, equipment and agricultural structures. Agricultural Engineers May perform tasks such as planning, supervision and construction management systems dairy manure, irrigation, drainage, water and flood control systems, conducting environmental impact assessments and interpret research results and implement practices.

Some specialties include power systems and machinery design, structures and environmental sciences and food and bio-engineering. They develop ways to conserve soil and water and improve the processing of agricultural products, food and biorenewable.

A large percentage of agricultural engineers work in universities or government agencies like the U.S. Department of Agriculture or state agricultural extension services. Many are employed by manufacturers of agricultural machinery and equipment. Engineers are allocated to agricultural production, sales, management, research and development, or applied science.
